Hello everyone, it has been a very long time since I have posted anything! I will be catching you guys up on what has been going on since my previous post.
I spent the first couple of months of 2018 working on my course to become a Certified Professional Life Coach. The course was very enjoyable and I learned a lot. The founder of the CCI (Christian Coach Institute) as well as the staff were very helpful, encouraging, and supportive. One of the biggest things that I had to work on was the ability to help people get from where they are to where they want to be without telling them what to do. I was able to finish the course in May of 2018 and be a graduate from CCI’s Life Coach course. I was not a Certified Professional Life Coach yet however and still am not one.
In order for me to be certified as a life coach with CCI, there were a number of things that I still had to do. I had to complete a couple more assignments, accrue a number of practicum hours, and submit 2 recordings. There was no set deadline after graduating from the course to complete these tasks and so I shifted my time and energy towards driving for Uber. I really needed to earn as much income as possible.
It was around middle of May 2018 that I started to drive at around 3:00 AM or 4:00 AM. That was when I discovered a jackpot. As uncomfortable as it is to be up at that time, I got a lot of nice long rides to the airport that were fairly profitable. Unlike most of the weekend party people, the majority of riders I picked up at this time were a lot more civilized and modest in their behavior. I also started to appreciate being able to get so much more done by being up so early.
At the time it was difficult for me to figure out my priorities between obtaining the life coach certification, earning money (from Uber/Lyft/personal training at LA Fitness), and my other priorities in my life. These other priorities include working out, practicing martial arts, and spending time with my community at my church. I was stuck on what to sacrifice as well as how much to sacrifice. It wasn’t until I got a phone call from the district VP of LA Fitness in Orange County that I was able to get some more clarity.
